Mathletics Hall of Fame

Congratulations to the following students for reaching Platinum V in Mathletics. Platinum V status is a result of earning 1000 points in Mathletics per week for 20 weeks this year. This is an incredible achievement and students should be very proud of their efforts. The following students have recently received a certificate and a badge to wear with pride on their school uniforms.

KPS Maths Olympics 2025

I am excited to share that the KPS Maths Olympics will be held on Thursday 31^st October. Tying in with the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris earlier this year, our event will be an early celebration of ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’ and a nice integration into the annual KPS Wellbeing Week. Students will be working together to earn points for an Olympic country by competing in a range of fun maths activities around the school. These games are an interesting twist on modern Olympic sports and are all designed for maximum participation and enjoyment. Year 1-3 students will complete their rotations in the morning before returning to class shortly after recess time. Following this, the senior year groups (4-6) will complete their rotations. The students will come together for an informal ‘closing ceremony’ later in the day to announce the winning country. Pre-Primary students will be participating in their own modified Olympic Games within the Early Childhood area. While sunscreen will be available, students are encouraged to apply their own sunscreen in the morning and reapply when needed later in the day. All students can have their hats and drink bottles with them during the rotations. I look forward to this fun day and in sharing the results with you in a later newsletter article.
